This icy escapade lasts roughly 3 hours. We'll set off by zodiac boat to the island nestled within the glacier. Upon arrival, we'll embark on a walk lasting about 1 hour, leading us to the ice access point. This uphill path, traversing rocky terrain, is classified as moderately challenging.

From this point forward, immerse yourself in the thrill of encountering the glacier's vastness firsthand. Positioned at an elevated vantage, we'll savor panoramic vistas of the Andes peaks and Lake Grey, crafting a visual spectacle that will linger in your memory.

It’s crucial to adhere to the dress code, ensuring both comfort and safety. Sunglasses and gloves are vital as we maintain constant contact with the ice. Waterproof attire is a must for the boat crossing to the island and in case of rain, while sturdy high-top shoes offer improved traction. Trekking pants and layered clothing are advisable for potential weather fluctuations. You can carry all these essentials in the backpack provided.

How to Get There:


From Puerto Natales, head to the Grey Lake Sailing Departure on the Grey III Catamaran. For a 10:00 a.m. departure, check-in is at 9:00 a.m., arriving at base camp by 11:00 a.m. for the first excursion. For a 1:00 p.m. departure, check-in is at 12:00 p.m., arriving at base camp around 2:00 p.m. for the second sailing. The third return sailing from the refuge departs at 5:30 p.m., accommodating passengers returning to their hotel or town.
